Description: Garden City California Art Pottery Ribbed Footed Stock Vase San Jose Vintage 7" Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Garden City pottery vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This glossy green, vertically ribbed piece has a broad foot. The vase stands approximately 7 inches tall. The upper rim diameter is about 5 1/8 inches. Unpacked, this piece weighs 2 pounds 6.3 ounces. It has tripod stilt marks beneath. This would be a good addition to a collection of vintage California pottery. Identification This vintage, unmarked pot is Garden City pottery of San Jose, California. Condition The vase looks good overall, with no post-production chips or cracks. The vase has minor wear overall. There are wear scratches to the bottom. The interior has fine crazing. There is some whitish residue, probably hard water staining, on the exterior near where the foot attaches to the ribbed portion of the vase; I made no attempt to remove this. As made, there are minor production flaws such as a 1/4 inch firing fissure on the exterior (at the top of the foot, near where the foot attaches to the ribbed portion of the vase) and a glaze chip beneath where a thick glaze drip stuck to the kiln floor. Thicker and thinner glaze areas are also as made. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying. Terms of Sale 1.
