Gary Sheffield, 6 card LOT, 5 different ROOKIE CARDS! All NM or better!

Description: This is a 6 card lot with 5 ROOKIE cards showing one of the best and most feared hitters in his era, Gary Sheffield. In his career Sheffield had 509 home runs, 1167 RBI, 2,689 hits and was a 9 time All-Star selection. Sheffield also won the Silver Slugger award 5 times and a batting title. Sheffield is the only player in MLB history to have driven in 100 or more runs in a season for 5 different teams. “Sheff” and HOF Fred McGriff are the only two players in MLB history to hit 30 or more HR in a season for 5 different teams. Sheffield is the first player to represent 5 different teams in the MLB All Star game and was only the 25th player in MLB history to hit over 500 HR in his career. Amazingly, Sheffield only struck out more than 80 times in a season twice and finished his career in the top 20 all-time for players being walked finishing his career with more walks than strikeouts. Steroids: Sheffield was mentioned in the Mitchell report. Sheffield testified he had used ‘the cream’ in 2001 to help recovery from his knee surgery but had no knowledge it contained steroids. Sheffield’s numbers didn’t improve dramatically during that time and he was an advocate for mandatory testing. While Sheffield was very controversial during his career, he has the numbers to be in the HOF where others, such as Jeff Bagwell, have admitted to using ‘Andro’, the same substance taken by Mark McGwire. Sheffield was tested numerous time and never tested positive. As was the case in those days, some cards may be off center but none will be miscut, meaning the inner frame of the photo on the card front will NOT touch the card edge. Currently, I have raw and graded baseball cards available dating back to the late 50's and raw football, basketball and hockey from the early to mid-70's in varying condition. To help reduce shipping costs, unless instructed otherwise, these cards will be shipped in a Plain White Envelope (PWE). If requested by the buyer, shipping in a small padded envelope will cost $4. Shipping fees listed are for delivery within the continental 48 states of the USA using USPS. International rates will vary and will charged extra, with the exact amount to be determined at the time of purchase. Shipments are typically mailed twice per week, on Saturdays and once during midweek. If you need an item with expedited shipping please notify me, while there is no guarantees that I'll be able to expedite the item(s), I will do my best to accommodate your request. Combined shipping is available and is based on the following: a) The buyer will pay the first or highest shipping fee and add $1.00 for each additional single graded card or $0.25 for each additional raw, ungraded, card. b) If unless the value is more than $200, I will insure the package through USPS, in which case the shipping costs may be more.
