Condition The following conditions are generalized for this set of comics: There might be a few small tears around the edges of some dates (in margins). These comics are old and tanned, but can be handled with ease. Some dates might be more tanned than others. Dates are often written in the margin on the reverse side in pencil. Condition notes are predominately focused on the comic on the front side (comic featured for the auction). Top and bottom margins are sometimes narrow. The comic was often on the centerfold of the newspaper. Color register is sometimes off a little bit, but the printing really looks great with these comics. These comics often had small tiny pin-prick holes, often a few in a hole, which appear to have been caused by some sort of machinery. These are normally very tiny and not very noticeable and I often had to hold the comic up to the light to find them. Otherwise many of these would have probably never been noticed. Most of the individual date condition notes relate to this issue. Sometimes this also resulted in scratches and/or indentations. The comics still look good, but we wanted to make sure to document these issues (don't see this often). Many of these holes are almost too small to see, some others are slightly larger. It is possible we went a little overboard in trying to detect these holes (might have counted natural tiny holes in the pulp). See pictures for an example. However, it was difficult to take pictures of this issue and the pictures might not have come out perfect. We also made some notes of some date specific issues (we tried to avoid making too many notes, and instead preferred to go the generalized condition notes above). This should serve as a guide to the condition of the set, it is possible that we have not caught everything: INDIVIDUAL DATE CONDITION NOTES Date CONDITION 1-6 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 8...mostly very tiny). The color register is also off a bit. 2-10 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 12...mostly very tiny). Comic is printed over a wrinkle line across the left side. Printing is a little fainter than on other dates. 2-24 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 4...mostly very tiny). The bottom margin is very narrow. 3-3 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 19). Most are tiny, but are a few are a little larger (small slits). 3-10 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 8...mostly very tiny). 3-17 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 15...mostly very tiny). 3-24 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 18...mostly very tiny). Also a small slit on the bottom extending approximately 2 cm into the comic. 5-19 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 6...mostly very tiny). The color register is also off slightly. 6-2 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 24). Most of these are very tiny and could only be located when carefully examining with the comic held up to the light. However, there are at least 8 that are a little larger (small slits). 7-14 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 8). 8-25 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 12...mostly very tiny). Also a slight wrinkle line on the left edge. 9-8 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 13...mostly very tiny). 9-22 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 14...mostly very tiny). 11-10 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 32). Most of these are tiny, but a few are a little larger (small slits). There are last four scratch/indentation lines along the bottom. These are pretty faint and not broken through as tears/cuts. 11-17 About 1.8 cm tear on the right side. 11-24 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 3...mostly very tiny). Also a few tiny tears around the edges. 12-1 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 5...mostly very tiny). Shipping Shipping cost is dependent on weight, and this comic weighs 9 ounces.
