Description: Up for grabs… one pair of WW2 Era US Army, M-1943 Gloves, Wool, OD, with Leather Palm. These were issued to Officers and Enlisted posted in cold weather combat zones. The label (which is intact and readable on both gloves) is as follows: Cont. No.W11-009-QM-35242Fried l, Ostermann CO.Size 9 As you can see from the photos the middle finger of the left glove is stitched to the cuff of the right, which indicates that these were issued and never worn. The leather palms also show no signs of heavy wear. When I got the gloves the leather was mildewed though they cleaned up nicely with a bit of leather conditioner. I got these in a box of WW2 Militaria at an estate sale. From what I gleaned, the owner of these gloves (now deceased) was a Military Policeman who stayed mainly stateside, which is why these were probably never used. Keep in mind, as with most WW2 gear, especially woolen kit, unissued doesn’t exactly mean pristine. There are a few small moth holes on both gloves with the left glove more affected than the right. However, I’ve seen way worse and none of the holes are bigger than a no. 2 pencil tip. Again, these are the genuine article. Not reproductions, not French or Greek copies. Note: I will happily sell to overseas sellers and I will consider trades for Ratnik gear (Russian made, not reproductions). Thanks for looking, and happy holidays!
