Description: A very special, genuine Georgian mourning locket ring, commemorating three people. In solid 9 carat gold, it has a typical Georgian flat, wide tapering band and an octagonal, strongly rounded locket head. This is set with a rounded glazed panel, retaining a lovely woven hair memento. To the back of the head is an inscription for three people: 'LG aged 25 died 1788, CG aged 21 died 1804, AF aged 82 died 1818'. It looks like the first two are original to the ring's manufacture, placing it at 1804, and the third added later in 1818. The ring looks very good for its 219 years, with some evidence of age/wear, and an old resizing to the back of the band. It's perfectly wearable and shows no loss or damage.
