GIBSON Limited Edition Les Paul Classic Heritage Cherry Sunburst 2000 [SN 001427] Rare model, Limited Edition Les Paul Classic is now in stock! The Gibson Les Paul Classic was first produced in the 1990s. This model is a true reproduction of the classic Les Paul with 1960 style slim taper neck, Kluson pegs, ARB-1 bridge, rubber stamped serial number, etc. The head decal is "Les Paul Classic". The head decal was "Les Paul MODEL" until around 1993, but it was changed to "Les Paul CLASSIC" after that. The one we have just received was made in 2000. It is different from Classic and Classic Plus which were produced in the same period. This is a limited model. The slim taper neck, Crewdson pegs, ARB-1 bridge, and rubber-stamped serial number are the common specs of the regular Classics, but the 57 Classic pickups are installed. The head diameter is "Les Paul Model" as on the earlier models. The Classic model is usually equipped with 496R and 500T pickups, so it can be said that Gibson put a lot of effort into this model at that time. The top maple is AA grade flame maple, making it a guitar that is as good as a Custom Shop guitar, even though it is a USA line model. The truss rod cover originally has the Classic logo on it, but the previous owner changed it to a plain one. The new cover gives the guitar a more vintage Les Paul look. There are some scratches and dents, but these also add depth to the guitar, giving it a beautiful and dignified appearance. This is a rare model that rarely appears on the market, and its value is increasing in the market.
