Description: This nice small whale oil light is six inches tall.The base diameter is three inches. We have owned this for over 30 years and often lite it just for fun (using fluid not whale oil). The base is hand blown and was certainly used with whale oil. As whale oil use faded the original burners were replaced by fluid burners like the one shown here which was probably added circa 1850-60.
