This item is a multi-year winner of the "Toys for Boys of the Year".He'll love it ! (works for tomboys too). This is likely one of the last Mamod tractors intended for spirit fuel use. As the English law prevented its use in 1972, the indicated date of manufacture (1973) is probably very accurate, give or take a year. It is in condition and has been air tested (video).It has been fired. Short of an always possible 50 years old dried up gasket, it should not give much trouble to operate on steam. It is complete, including the original box that is in good condition. The directions are very readable.The one important thing to report :Everything is original with the exception of the two front wheels. The new ones look really great but they wobble a bit. If you find it annoying, you probably can insert a washer on either side. The little locks (one time use only) are available at Lowe's. This item was been around for 60+ years without a whole lot of changes.
