The 7-element design incorporates a high index of refraction thoriated (radioactive) element and makes for an interesting conversation piece. Despite this, speaking as retired nuclear spectroscopist, the radioactivity is very low and will not harm you, your eyes nor film. Effect on digital photography sensors is unknown but probably best not stored on digital cameras when not in use. Yellowing is a natural result the radioactive decay, however this example has been treated and “de-yellowed” but yellowing may occur if the lens is stored and not actively used for years.
