Description: Oooh, this is a nice one. Really sweet Geisha's hikizuri kimono for your consideration. Great color and great motifs. We got some lovely matsu ( pine ) with the whole library's books scattered about the hems and sleeves. This blue-teal color is GORGEOUS too; quite unusual pigment. Dating this one is interesting; it could possibly be a pre-war girl that worked hard postwar; but I want to say this is an early post-war piece. This is Kyo jimon on this piece; I strongly suspect this piece is from the Kyo Kagai because of this. Overall condition for a hikizuri is pretty darned good. She's got her stains and some light migrations but she's not filthy. There's one spot on the top of a sleeve that's a little grungy but if you collect hikizuri you already know how bad these can get. Lining is pretty good; she's got her hiyoku; it's not perfect but it's not bad. There's no rips or tears, or abrasions; the silk is in great condition. I would say this piece could be worn for dance performance or cosplay still. No rips. No tears. No holes. No smells. Measurements are listed below. If you're looking for a flat measurement to wear as a robe or cardigan; please multiple the backwidth by 2 and that will give you your flat pit to pit measurement to some extent beyond this; the kimono is adjustable; but I get a plethora of people looking for a robe and don't understand that traditional kimono is not like a western garment in having chest-waist-hip measurements; it is all straight up and down.
