GORGEOUS SERVICED Vivitar Series 1 "Bokina" 90mm f/2.5 Macro Lens set Canon FD

Description: Up for sale is fantastic example of a truly legendary macro lens, the Vivitar Series 1 90mm f/2.5 VMC with matched 1:1 adapter. Known colloquially as the "Bokina," this lens was originally produced for Vivitar by well-known Japanese lens maker Tokina, and quickly developed a legendary reputation for its fantastic sharpness, color and rendering, but most of all for the its beautifully smooth "bokeh" (out of focus areas) it produces. It was such a success that Tokina eventually released an optically identical version they released under their own Pro-level "AT-X" line and continued to sell it for several years after their licensing arrangement with Vivitar ended. Used alone, the lens is capable of 1:2 macro magnification, and true 1:1 magnification when used with the included matched adapter. This particular example is in gorgeous vintage condition with minimal handling wear, perfect mechanics, and glass free of scratches/haze/and fungus. Like nearly all examples of this lens, it had some separation of the focus lubricants over the years, which in most cases leads to slowing of the aperture blades and often fouling of the inner lens surfaces. This lens has been disassembled, cleaned relubed, and the interior surfaces and aperture cleaned for trouble-free operation! As the adapter was found with no issues, it was not necessary to service it. Includes caps (lens and adapter) and leatherette adapter holder. This lens features the Canon FD mount which can be used natively on Canon film SLRs. It also can easily be adapted for manual use on most popular DSLR, and mirrorless formats with an inexpensive adapter ring (sold separately, see chart below for digital compatibility).
