Gravity Falls Journal 3 Hardcover Book WITH ADDED INVISIBLE INK PAGES & PHOTOS

Description: This listing is for a hardcover Gravity Falls Journal 3 book that has been meticulously changed to better resemble the Special Edition of Journal 3, complete with invisible-ink pages, textured photographs, the tassel and monocle, and more! This project was made using the current market version of Journal 3 as a base, all of which were sourced from various Target locations. [This listing is for Batch 2, of which I have FIVE identical books available for purchase.] Every invisible-ink addition to these books was hand-drawn with reference taken directly from scans of the Special Edition of the book as well as the show. Details were replicated to look as close as possible to the Special Edition. The only major differences in the invisible-ink pages are the random splatters of ink on some pages. The Special Edition had these, but I added a few more in different spots. The "BILL WAS HERE" drawing was also originally underneath the photo of Alex Hirsch on the autograph page (which doesn't exist in this version), and I didn't want to leave it out. Come to think of it, I don’t really remember drawing it… Every single "photograph" and "taped-in" piece of paper in the book is now textured! I dismantled and cut up entire other copies of Journal 3 in order to achieve this effect. Each photo was cut out of one book and placed into another. They cannot be flipped up like the Special Edition, but this detail makes the journal feel more like an actual scrapbook! The ones that mimic polaroid pictures have also been laminated, so they have a shiny smooth look that makes them distinct from the texture of the pages! I also glued some metal rivets onto all four corners of the front cover of each book. This was a detail that, to my knowledge, none of the official Journal 3 variants had, but it’s one that brings the book further to life. I made sure to match the tassel that came with the Special Edition exactly. I couldn't match the monocle exactly, as I believe the one on the Special Edition was made specifically for that release, but it is able to magnify! I also tried to match the ribbon as close as possible; the tassel and monocle are tied with a "lark's head" knot and the ends of each ribbon are glued directly to the spine of the book. PLEASE NOTE: I did NOT copy every single page from the Special Edition. A fair few have been left out, but I got the ones that I thought were the most important from the show. I tried to get all of them as similar as possible (using reference from the Special Edition) but as they are all hand-drawn, each one will look a little different. The ink-splotches will look different between books as well since splatters tend to make unique patterns. If you still love Gravity Falls but were unable to get your hands on the Special Edition when it launched in 2017, please consider this one! These books took an insane amount of time to make and I poured my entire soul into them as a big fan of the show myself. The Journal had a massive impact on my childhood (as I imagine it did yours), and it really is a shame they won’t reissue the Special Edition version, let alone make Journals 1 or 2.
