Description: This belonged to my Beloved Aunt Roma (RIP 1899-1991). She was a big party gal, a champion sportswoman (golf & bowling & cards & mahjong), and loved hosting her own get togethers both when she grew up in NYC and when she moved to Miami. She began her career as a bank bookkeeper (circa 1917) and retired as the bank’s Vice President. She simply loved martinis and left phamplets and booklets on how to mix a huge number of drinks. From bridge parties to evening social events she was as well known for her gatherings as for her golf and gambling wins. And it was in this glass pitcher that she mixed up her drinks which were to be stirred, not shaken. There is a glass stir stick that I can send along but the should be in jail packers and mover’s managed to break off some of its length. The glass shows air bubbles. There are no maker markings. I’m no glass blower so I can’t say how it was done but at some point in the process the glass handle was attached separately and made part of the piece. It is a heavy piece weighing a bit over 2 pounds all by itself prior to being packaged. It will be well protected from postal mishandling as well as fully insured.
