Many Grommets for 1 specific model also fit other models. Amazingly, there are even grommets from some manufacturers that fit models from other manufacturers. Over our 40+ years in this industry, we have created a vast database of cross referenced grommets. Many major manufactures now contact us when they have requests for grommets for racquets they no longer service. In the past, the manufactures would continue to distribute grommets for their entire line of racquets, even those decades old. Recently we have noticed that this has changed, & that 3 or so years after the discontinuance of a model seems to be when they stop manufacturing many older grommets, leaving customers in the lurch. Don't give up on finding those rare grommets. Check with us. You will be glad you did! We have the "Rarest of the Rare" AVAILABLE NOWHERE ELSE! WHY DO GROMMETS WEAR OUT & REQUIRE REPLACEMENT?Head Guards wear out for a number of reasons, dud to the aging of the plastic, & due to contact with court surfaces. They require replacement when worn out, to prevent permanent damage to the racquet's structure. Grommet Tubes also wear out due to the stringing process, much more rapidly, if strung by an inexperienced stringer. The more often your racquets require stringing, the more often they will also require new grommets. Grommet replacement requires skill. Even the removal of old grommets requires it, to prevent damage to a racquet, as well as to prevent debris from the old grommets finding their way inside a racquet's hollow structures, which can result in some serious noise issues. We don't recommend you attempt grommet replacement yourself, unless you have all of the tools required for the job, and the experience required to do it properly.OEM GROMMETS AVAILABLE FOR MOST MANUFACTURES: Supplying grommets for racquets that are currently, or recently in production is easy, supplying them for older racquets takes a commitment to maintain such an inventory, a commitment most suppliers, other than Tennis Menace are unwilling to undertake. For example, we still have grommets for the Wilson Pro Staff St. Vincent & Chicago both the versions WITH & WITHOUT a Headguard. Perhaps you need grommets for a Wilson Profile, or a Prince Mach 1000, a Yamaha Secret-04, or a Fischer Vacuum Pro 90? Yup! Tennis Menace has 'em.We have hundreds of thousands of tennis racquet grommets in our extensive inventory. We spent the cash and bought these grommets, while other dealers sat on their hands. It was, and continues to be a huge investment. Grommets that are available everywhere & thus not considered to be rare aren't very expensive. However, those that may no longer available from any other source often are extremely expensive. Be prepared! Such pricing is totally dependent upon how many are still available in our inventory. We fully understand that some customers feel that paying many times what a set of grommets originally cost may not seem KOSHER, after all grommets are just plastic, but try to see our situation, we have made the investment to stockpile this huge inventory so that at least there is a source for rare grommets, after every other source has dried up. If you consider what percentage of this vast inventory will never be sold, as they're no longer in demand, or simply because the available supply is significantly greater than the demand, the reason for extra high prices (for the rare ones) becomes understandable. Grommets that are available from many sources are thus going to be "fairly inexpensive". If you have searched everywhere and we are your last resort, we suggest you should be prepared for the possibility that prices will not be what you paid in the past. Some very rare grommets can cost upwards of $100. It all depends upon availability. Be aware that some manufactures, notably PRINCE have produced a few different versions of the same racquet. The name & graphics may be exactly the same, but with an entirely different grommet design, NOT interchangeable with the original version. They consider this to be product improvement. Perhaps you won't be quick to agree it was an improvement at all, if you end up with the wrong grommets being sent to you. For this reason, we always take time to verify which version you have, if applicable. Look for the TX / TC Code which should be found inside the racquet's Throat Triangle.UPDATE! It has recently come to our attention that the manufactures have altered their grommet strategy for the worse. While in the past they continued to produce & sell the grommets for their discontinued models for a number of years, they've decided that it's better for the bottom line if they no longer do so. In essence they've decided that you will simply have to buy new racquets due to lack of any grommet availability & they're betting that you'll buy a racquet from them again? I fail to see the logic in that. Here's a suggestion we hope you heed. If you have a Prince racquet that needs grommets, tell your stringer to refrain from removing & disposing of the old grommets, until you've found a definitive source for replacement and have verified that all the parts are included. Prince decided that certain "Key Pieces" such as the Inserts in their Headguards, or in some cases the Side Inserts or Throatpiece, are not WEAR parts, and often they aren't included in the replacement grommet sets. Thus saving the grommets currently in the racquet, may be prudent.YONEX produced racquets that had some "Soft Rubber Grommets". These were in the throat, and/or at at the sides & possibly top. These ALL deteriorate over time, even the NEW ones in our stock of Yonex replacement grommets. Normally all those racquets would be un-repairable, but that's not the case. We have developed a method whereby we can replace the Defective "Soft Rubber Grommets" with standard plastic grommets which fixes the problem. Racquet must be sent to us, as indicated below.WE CAN CUSTOM GROMMET ANY RACQUET, NO EXCEPTIONS! If grommets are no longer available for your particular racquet model, even from us, we'll custom grommet your racquet using our custom grommet replacement system. The cost is $1.00 or more per hole, so it varies depending upon a racquet's design.Racquets that need this service, need to be sent to us for grommeting, & stringing is required along with our custom grommet service, @ $27.50 + string price. YOU'VE BEEN TOLD YOUR GROMMETS ARE UNAVAILABLE?DON'T GIVE UP & CHANGE RACQUETS, JUST CHECK BELOW!WE HAVE THE RARE, HARD TO FIND, DISCONTINUED ONES!RARE GROMMETS COULD BE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!PRICES ARE DEPENDENT UPON AVAILABILITY AND OUR ACTUAL COST IN ACQUIRING THE GROMMETS. IF THE GROMMETS ARE READILY AVAILABLE FROM OTHER SOURCES, THEY WILL BE INEXPENSIVE, & OUR PRICE WILL LIKELY MIRROR OTHER SOURCES. IF NOT AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE, BE PREPARED!!!!WE DON'T LIST THE PRICES ON ANY OF OUR GROMMETS. PRICES FLUCTUATE ALONG WITH MARKET CONDITIONS. E-MAIL US FOR LATEST UP TO THE MINUTE PRICING. IF WE NEED CLARIFICATION, NOTE THAT WE MAY ASK. YOU TO CALL US ON THE PHONE,SO WE CAN DISCUSS. UNLESS YOU'RE OUTSIDE THE U.S. FOLLOWING SUCH SIMPLE DIRECTIONS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM????YES, PRICES FOR SOME GROMMETS MAY SEEM EXORBITANT. BUYING NEW RACQUETS, MAY BE EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE. CONSIDER THE TIME AND EFFORT THAT YOU'LL POSSIBLY SPEND, LOOKING FOR SUITABLE REPLACMENT RACQUETS.MANY CUSTOMERS BALK AT PRICES FOR RARE GROMMETS. "I can probably buy a Brand New Racquet at that kind of price!"The comedic, but poignant answer to such a response:Husband to Surgeon: "How much will my wife's Transplant cost?" Surgeon to Husband: After your insurance pays, balance is $50,000" Husband to Surgeon: "I can probably get a brand new wife for that."WE'RE NOT IN BUSINESS AS A PUBLIC SERVICE OR CHARITY. IF THE QUOTE FOR THE GROMMETS YOU REQUIRE, IS HIGHER THAN WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY, PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO ARGUE THE POINT WITH US, AS WE DO NOT NEGOTIATE. If the grommets we send you do not fit your racquet and it is necessary that you send them back, be aware of the following: We do not accept returns on any grommets that are not in their original sealed packaging. Once you OPEN the package, the sale is final. Thus it is your or your stringers job to make sure they are the correct grommets BEFORE the packaging is OPENED. Our packaging is unique & has Anti-Tamper features to prevent resealing. We were forced to resort to this after a small percentage of customers started SWITCHING what we had sold them and returning grommets other than what we sent, or with parts missing, or even USED grommets. REPEATING! DO NOT OPEN the package, until you have "Visually" checked that the grommets are the correct ones and that all the parts are included. If you must return them, upon receipt, we verify that the ANTI-TAMPER packaging has not been opened. All shipping costs are paid by you, unless we made an error. It's your job to make sure you're are ordering the correct grommets to begin with! Repeat! it's up to you to correctly specify the model & or Headsize of the racquet when you are placing any order. WE are well aware of the differences & go out of our way when we receive your order, to make sure there is no ambiguity, as to which grommet you need, however, if you leave out a key part of a racquets name, or make a mistake as to the headsize or string pattern, things we may ask you, you can understand that it isn't the best idea to order a grommet, for a racquet that you do not actually have in your possession, such as when it is sitting at your stringers! Racquets often come in multiple headsizes & or come in varying lengths, as well as often having addendums to the name like: +, Pro, Tour, Team, in their model name. Since we must rely on what you specify when placing an order, we send an ebay invoice, spelling out in detail, exactly what you ordered, so as to eliminate any arguments later. Racquets sold in other countries can often differ from U.S. models. We're a U.S. dealer, & not always aware of all non U.S. models, thus in an attempt at avoiding issues, we go out of our way, to verify that the grommets we are about to sell you are the correct ones for your racquet. If you have any inkling that your racquet may not be from the U.S., we suggest you inform us of that issue. Assume all our grommets are for U.S. racquet models, unless otherwise indicated! Again, we will go out of our way to try & verify which grommet you require, but ultimately we have no choice other than to rely on the accuracy of the information you provide to us.
