Description: Beautifully hand-crafted 3-dimensional Intarsia HUMMINGBIRD & LILY Puzzle Wooden Box. This piece of Intarsia wood art required a lot of workmanship since it was hand-carved, first from a solid chunk of wood to have the shape of a Hummingbird & Lily, then the inside of the wood to have space for keeping small things like jewelries. Another piece of wood was carved to make the lid for the box which has a part coming up, used to hold and pull the lid out. The most interesting part is the cover which was carved from 17 different pieces of wood with different thickness and glued together on a wood base to form a Hummingbird & Lily. An important part is a piece of wood which was carved in bone-shape to make the key for this puzzle box, the length of the key is almost the thickness of the puzzle box. When you first look at this Hummingbird & Lily item, it's hard to tell that's a box ! In order to open the box, you need to find the key which is on the edge of the item. Slide the key up; slide the cover to left or right; open the lid.....and there's your hidden things....So, this puzzle box is used as a decorative item and also can be used to hide small things like valuable jewelries or keys.....You'll find it's a very interesting item..... All hand-carved using different kinds of wood to bring different colors for the piece. So, the colors of wood here are natural colors of wood. For this feature, it's almost like one-of-a-kind because next time if we make the same design again, it won't look exactly the same as the wood grain will change slightly. Also, each piece is hand-carved individually, so it's all unique. (The actual item you'll receive maybe very slightly different than what pictured since each piece is hand-crafted individually.
