Description: Old Native American Navajo handmade ankle moccasins. From the 1950's, soft deer hide leather, all hand-stitched (you can tell by the irregularity of the stitching) and hand-beaded, just precious. Materials are small glass seed beads, and deer skin. Colors of the leather are tan and red. Beads are light purple or periwinkle. Length from heel to toe is roughly 3" making these a size 0 or 1 at the largest. The colors are still bright and true. There is some wear, these have been on display for 75 years. Would make incredible display pieces, or perfect for dolls. I purchased this in a collection of old items from a Native American gift shop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The shop was exactly as you would imagine... old, dusty, and, sadly, closing it's doors. Proprietor told me that these moccasins hand been in the possession of the shop since the 1950's.
