Description: Rare proof rare scene of “Kitzbuhel-im-Winter” ca 1970 by the Austrian artist, Hans Figura. On silk, it is signed in pencil by the artist, and at the bottom left there appears in pencil 4 "probe” which is German for proof. The artwork measures approximately 12.5” X 10.5” and is in pristine condition. Incredibly detailed, including the ski-lift in the background. The matting measurements are 17 5/8" X 21 1/8" and is in excellent condition. The pictures I took are without the glass to increase clarity and detail, and to reduce glare. It is matted and framed in what appears to be the original frame which has slight chipping. On the backing is the period label of the German framing and art gallery, Kunst-Schaefer, Weisbaden-Faulbrunnerstr.11. See pictures for condition of the backing. I have not been able to find another proof on the internet of any of Hans Figura’s works of art. The backing has been removed by a former owner, and I removed the glass which is not included in the sale to prevent breakage. As an impeccably preserved and numbered proof, this is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of art and history.
