Description: A scarce and desirable porcelain figurine of a lady offering her Borzoi dog a cookie, with the dog looking up at her adoringly. This piece was produced by Hertwig & Co., from Kutzhutte, Thuringia, E. Germany and is so hallmarked under the base. The company was in business from 1932 until 1945, and this particular hallmark was in use from 1914 until circa 1945. The elegant lady is dressed in 1940s style, with her flowing dress beautifully decorated, and she holds a brimmed hat in her hand. She is the epitome of elegance. The Borzoi is beautifully modeled as well, and takes equal importance in the sculpture. This is a charming and evocative piece. It measures 8" tall by 5" long. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. There are a few small black flecks in the glaze from the old coal fired kilns. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description. We also have other vintage, quality Borzoi items currently listed and are happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases when safe for all items.
