It is an expanded new edition with newly discovered works and new information. About the authorBorn in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1876 (Meiji 9). Moved to Tokyo in 1894 (Meiji 27). Traveled to the United States in 1899 (Meiji 32). He held exhibitions in Detroit, Boston, Washington, England, and other cities.Since then, he has frequently traveled to the United States, Europe, India, China, and throughout Japan to sketch.In 1920 (Taisho 9), he met publisher Watanabe Shozaburo and published his first woodblock print. In 1925 (Taisho 14), he produced the "American Series" (6 pieces) and the "Europe Series" (11 pieces) of woodblock prints depicting European and American landscapes.From that year on, he employed his own carvers and printers and published woodblock prints. After the end of the war in 1945 (Showa 20), many Americans, including Mrs. MacArthur, visited Yoshida Hiroshi and became friends with him.He passed away in 1950 (Showa 25) at the age of 73.
