A little over a year ago, my father passed and I was given what remained of his old model railroad collection. While not much: a few old locomotives, some broken freight cars needing work, an old power supply and lots of track, it spurred in me a desire to learn how to repair and restore damaged and non-functional model locomotives back to operational condition. Since then, I've spent time finding similar steam locomotives, many of them broken, dirty, dusty and usually non-functional, in order to restore and offer them to people who are also interested in model railroads. Luckily...this locomotive, tender car and accompanying cars were not in bad condition at all! What are you getting? As the title states, you're bidding on a HO Scale 4-4-0 Bachmann Central Pacific Railroad Jupiter steam locomotive with the tender car, as well as a flat bed freight car and caboose:Locomotive: One of the cleanest locomotives I've had the pleasure to acquire. Inspection found no damage or missing parts. Minor cleaning to remove dust and dirt, as well as a buffing of the axles to improve contact with the track for better electrical power.Tender car: No visible damage.Drive shaft between the locomotive and tender car was present.Motor responds immediately in forward and reverse.LIGHT WORKS!!! Always glad when I see the light functions as it was originally intended to do!Flat-Bed Freight Car: Plastic brake pole missing.Caboose: Brake wheel missing.THAT'S IT! Everything else was functioning exactly as it should.Pilot undamaged (commonly found with cracks or broken, but not this time)Handrails and stanchions along either side of the boiler are all in place and buffed to shine.Smokestack, bell and two domes are all intactNo discernable wear on locomotive or tender, tender steps are intact and in placeAll cars have hook horn couplers, so no problem hooking up with other similar cars.Testing revealed strong power forward and in reverse. Granted, I couldn't really do a full around-the-track demonstration, you can clearly see that the locomotive works in forward and reverse, so you're ready to go!ORIGINAL BOX INCLUDED: Locomotive / Tender are shipped in their original box and cradle. Clear front window torn, so clear tape used to repair it and ensure locomotive stays in box.Most Jupiter locomotives found online now are used and have significant wear from regular usage, but this one doesn't.
