Description: AS NEW HO SCALE BACHMANN PLUS CONSOLIDATION SANTA FE AT&SF 2-8-0 W/ SMOKE MPN 31401 ROAD # 705. NOT DCC. REPRESENTED TO ME AS A "DEMO" NEW IN BOX WHEN PURCHASED. OTHER THAN TESTING FOR THIS LISTING NEVER RUN ON MY LAYOUT AND HAS BEEN IN STORAGE SINCE PURCHASED. COULD USE A GOOD DUSTING. I THINK HOBBY SHOP WHERE I PURCHASED HAD IT DISPLAYED ON A SHELF. RUNS AND LOOKS LIKE NEW!! LOCOMOTIVE AND TENDER ARE PRISTINE AND ORIGINAL PAPERWORK. I PUT THIS ON MY LAYOUT AND DID A COUPLE OF LAPS. IT RAN SMOOTH AND QUIET AT HIGH AND LOW SPEED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. THE GEAR TRAIN WAS TRUE. THE LOCOMOTIVE HEADLIGHT WORKED AS IT SHOULD. THE FACTORY BOX HAS TAPE ON TOP. NO WHEEL WEAR, BRIGHT AND SHINY. COULD NOT TEST SMOKE AS DID NOT HAVE ANY LIQUID SMOKE. I AM NOT AND HAVE NEVER BEEN A DEALER. APPROXIMATELY 25-30 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS FINALLY IN A POSITION TO START THE HOBBY A LOCAL HOBBY SHOP WHICH SPECIALIZED IN MODEL TRAINS WAS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AND THE OWNER OFFERED ME ALL HIS PROTO 2000 AND 1000 INVENTORY FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE AND GIVEN MY COMPULSIVE NATURE I BOUGHT THEM ALL AND THEY HAVE BEEN IN STORAGE EVER SINCE. PLEASE EXAMINE THE PICTURES CAREFULLY AS THEY ARE CONSIDERED PART OF THE DESCRIPTION AS TO CONDITION. ITEMS LISTED ARE FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS AND MY FEEDBACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE. THESE HAVE BEEN SITTING A LONG TIME AND I WOULD RECOMMEND A CLEANING, LUBRICATION AND OILING BEFORE PUTTING INTO SERVICE ON YOUR LAYOUT.
