The Unit's Serial Number Tag Reads: Model Number: PS 1200 Serial Number: 84-094 Description: The Hoefer PS 1200 Power Supply can be run in Constant Current, Constant Voltage or Constant Power mode. It will accurately supply 0 - 1200 volts, 0 - 250 milliamps or 0 - 300 watts and can be run at 1200 volts and 250 milliamps simultaneously. In addition to these normal functions, the PS 1200 has a program feature which will allow the researcher to switch automatically from Constant Current or Constant Power to Constant Voltage when a preset voltage is reached during a run. This feature is useful in isoelectric focusing or in overnight runs when uncontrolled voltage rises could cause gel overheating.
