Description: Flap Holster , made by Stewart Historic Saddlery . Copied from an original . Completely hand sewn . Main seam is "butt stitched" just like the original . This keeps the body of the holster open , Not flat . Sewing machines can not perform this stitch , and must be hand sewn . This also goes for the Toe Plug , Finial backing , main seam reinforcement . Sewn 9 stitches to the inch . Reshaped brass closing finial (stud). I've been making period Military and Civilian holsters for close to 50 years now, and believe that the patterns and assembly are dialed in. Please notice photos showing the inside detail employed to make the holster. Please note the belt loop stitching that continues up the body. The upper stitching segment is not seen from the outside. This pattern holster offers a good degree of protection and durability. Last 5 photos are of the original (unmarked) holster I copied. These will fit Colts 1860 and 1858 Remington Army models. I invite you to read my seller feedback. Buyers seem to like the holsters I make. Thank you, Jack Stewart I have gone back to using flat rate priority mail. Ground Advantage is taking too long 10-12 days at times. My opinion is, the longer it takes, the more that can go wrong in transit. Excellent quality, craftsmanship, and quick delivery. Would recommendHolster 1860 Colt/Remington Army, Cavalry , Artillery. Stewart Historic Saddlery (#145817330633) Below is my reply to a buyer that asked about the rivets coming in contact with the revolver; short answer , yes. Long answer- there are 6 rivets total , 3 upper with heads facing away from the inside, and 3 lower facing inward. (see photo of open holster). 2 of the 3 lower rivets can make contact with the cylinder . The upper rivet is situated near the trigger bow (that is made from brass anyway) and does not make contact with my 60 Army. So the lower 2 rivets I set deep into the leather to minimize contact with the gun. Also the rivets are copper, a very soft metal . My 1860 Army lives full time in this (exact pattern) holster and I can detect no visible ware . BUT I will not guarantee no ware to the bluing over time. I hope this answers your question, respectfully, Jack Stewart
