Description: Adorable Vintage Collector Golden Beige Plush Teddy Bear - Painter / Artist Bear by House of Nisbet, Winscombe England Hand Numbered Limited Edition No. 697 of 1000 Worldwide 13 inches tall dates to 1976 to 1988 golden velvet pads wearing blue Artist's Smock with Paint Brush in pocket white snap fastener at the back/neck has come off one side but is present for reattachment Fully jointed amber eyes, dark green stitched nose Original side seam tag showing NTB5 House of Nisbet, Winscombe England, hand numbered on the reverse No 697 of 1000 World Wide. Teddy's back has seam opening of about 2 inches that a few stitches will easily fix. Peggy Nisbet Ltd was founded in 1953 by Peggy Nisbet in Weston-Super-Mare England and Peggy specialized in making dolls. In 1975 Jack Wilson's Canadian Investment Company acquired Peggy Nisbet Ltd and in 1976 changed the name to House of Nisbet when they began to introduce teddy bears designed by Peggy's daughter Alison based in Winscombe Avon England. In 1986 two Limited Edition Bears were issued to commemorate their 10th Anniversary. In 1989 the House of Nisbet was acquired by Dakin.
