Details of each book below Hysteric 1 Inoue Seiryu A photo collection of Japanese photographer Seiryu Inoue "hysteric One". Born in Tosa City, Kochi Prefecture, she studied under the masterpiece Takeshi Iwamiya in the 1950s, began taking photographs on the stage in Kansai, and was a documentary photographer who also had a great influence on Daido Moriyama. A work that lives in one of Japan's leading doya town "Kamagasaki" and interacts with local people and portrays the harsh daily life and drama of the human being is presented as the "Human Hundred View-Kamagasaki" in 1961, 5th Japan Photography We will receive the Critics Association New Face Award and Camera Art New Face Award. Since then, he will be a lecturer at the Faculty of Photography, Osaka Art University, as if following Iwamiya, but he is a legendary photographer who died in an accident during the filming of the masterpiece "Okinawa Amami", which he follows Kamagasaki. This book is the first of a series of photographs published by the collection brand Hysteric Grammar, and is a book consisting of works by Kamagasaki. Kagasaki's social-human story is a place for photographers to be "a place where people themselves like to cry so much that they want to die and they hate so much that they want to die". 2001 Hysteric 2 Cindy Sherman"I have this juvenile fascination with things that are repulsive… To think about why something repulses me makes me that much more interested in it. I feel that I have to explore it." Limited edition monograph featuring 20 black-and-white photographic plates by internationally acclaimed visual artist Sherman, from her 1999 "Broken Dolls" series. Created while she was going through a painful divorce from French-born video artist Michael Auder, the series features scenes of dolls dismembered and recombined in sexually explicit situations. As in much of Sherman's output, the juxtaposition between innocence and the grotesque is unsettling and thought-provoking, evocative here of Hans Bellmer’s surrealist dolls (which the series was later shown beside at Sprüth Magers Gallery in London in 2013). Published by artist Nobuhiko Kitamura of Japanese fashion brand Hysteric Glamour (and designed by Toshio Shiratani) as a limited edition series of 300 copies, with this copy unnumbered. Small tear to lower panel of glassine dust jacket, else fine. 2001 Hysteric 3 Jack PiersonJack Pierson 80s. Published as Hysteric 3 by Hysteric Glamour. Square format hardcover with cloth and painted white square. 2001 first edition. A beautiful book of black and white photography. Portraits and landscapes and visual poetry. Hysteric 4 Charlie White"Hysteric Four" by Charlie White is a visually striking artwork that explores themes of identity and modern societal pressures. Known for his hyper-realistic and surreal style, White captures a moment of intense emotion, often using exaggerated human features and actions. The piece combines familiar and alien elements, creating a sense of discomfort and curiosity. Through meticulous composition and use of color, "Hysteric Four" offers a powerful commentary on the psychological strains of contemporary life, inviting viewers to reflect on hidden emotional turbulence. 2001 Hysteric 5 Onaka KojiThe fifth entry in fashion brand Hysteric Glamour’s photobook series is a collection of color photographs by Japanese artist Koji Onaka. The photographs, taken between 1999 and 2001, were taken during travels all over Japan: snaps of street scenes and peculiarities, nature landscapes, imaginative compositions and visual oddities of everyday life. These are among the first color photographs by Koji Onaka, and each individual image reveals Onaka’s awareness of and developing approach towards colors. 2001 Hysteric 6 Nakahira Takuma This is the sixth photobook published by Japanese fashion brand “Hysteric Glamour”, and Takuma Nakahira’s first book in more than ten years since his previous work, “ADIEU A X” (1989). At this point, the style that characterized Nakahira’s later work—slide film that eliminates traces of the artist’s hand, well-focused images, and vertical framing—has been completed, giving the book the appearance of a botanical illustrated book. His solo exhibition, “Everyday Life: Takuma Nakahira Today,” was held in June 1997, and it consisted of such photographs. The poet and critic Shino Kuraishi, who later curated “Takuma Nakahira: Degree Zero—Yokohama” (2003) at the Yokohama Museum of Art, recalls the exhibition as an incident in the history of photography and a sharp examination of the history of photography itself. This is a major and important work that condenses the new territory that Nakahira has arrived at. 2002 Hysteric 7 Dean SameshimaThis slim but potent collection of photographs from Dean Sameshima is divided into three chapters that lead seamlessly into one another other: the sun-bleached, unadorned cement facades of sex clubs make way for the rumpled, sweat-soaked sheets of the empty beds inside, which then open naturally onto the open shirts of the “Modern Boys” whom the artist has cropped just below the eyes. Bruce Hainley’s essay, “Jock, Model, Building, Bed,” uses Sameshima’s photographs as a launching pad for musings on objects of his own desire and the spaces and places of that desire. 2002 Hysteric 8 Suzuki RisakuThis photobook showcases suzuki risaku's unique photographic vision, a monograph of his work published as part of the hysteric series, specifically "hysteric 8." the collection features a series of images that capture the ephemeral beauty of nature and everyday scenes, blending a sense of tranquility with an acute attention to detail. suzuki's work often emphasizes the play of light and shadow, presenting a contemplative and serene perspective. comprising a carefully curated selection of photos, each piece invites viewers to pause and reflect on the quiet moments that often go unnoticed in the hustle of daily life. 2003 Hysteric 9 Bohnchang KooKorean artist Koo Bohnchang’s series “Masks”, published as issue 9 of Japanese fashion brand Hysteric Glamour’s photobook series, is somewhat of a break in the artist’s career. For the first time, Koo focuses his attention on traditional Korean art and culture, photographing an inventive but eery series of portraits of people wearing Korean “Tal” masks. Traditionally, the men and women who wore such masks were able to pass freely between our world and the world of spirits. These masks provided ordinary people with special power, transforming them into something else. In his photographs, the cultural meaning of the masks becomes another element used by Koo to create multi-layered compositions that play with surrealism, personality, expression, fear and the comical. 2003 Hysteric 10 Sawatari HajimePublished as part of the photobook series Hysteric published by Hysteric Glamour, Hajime Sawatari’s Histeric ten is the tenth edition to the sixteen photobooks produced by Hysteric Glamour founder Nobuhiko Kitamura. The series includes published works by photographers such as Daido Moriyama, Terry Richardson, Masahisa Fukase and Cindy Sherman. Hysteric ten brings brings together Hajime Sawatari’s photographic series focused on the erotic theme of Shunga. 2004 Hysteric 11 Ichiro KojimaPhoto album "hysteric eleven" by Ichiro Kojima, one of Japan's leading photographers. Ichiro Kojima, a legendary photographer who was born in Aomori Prefecture and continued to shoot the Aomori climate. After serving three years, he began taking photographs under the influence of his father since the early 1950s, and spent only ten years working as a photographer until he left the world at the age of only 39 in 1964. After the end of the war, we saw the town of Aomori, the hometown of Aomori, which was ruined by the largest air strike in Tohoku, and was attacked by a fierce feeling of collapse. I am fascinated by the figure of a farmer who works silently, is urged self-reflection, and finds hope to live. Since then, Aomori's culture of photography, which has been filmed for four years, caught the eye of the pioneer of press photography, Tonosuke Totori, held a solo exhibition in Tokyo in 1958, and in 1963 is the only collection of works in Japan. It leads to the publication of one of the best masterpieces in the history of photography: Tsugaru . This book is a collection of series of works published by collection brand Hysteric Grammar and edited and produced by Osamu Wataya of the photographer and Tsutomu Ota of the stable. 2004 Hysteric 12 Fukase MasahisaJapanese photographer Masahisa Fukase's photo book "hysteric Twelve". Masahisa Fukase has been staring at himself as a "human" and "photographer" through familiar subjects such as his wife, father, family, cats, and crows. After graduating from Nihon University College of Art, he started working as a commercial and worked for Daiichi Advertising Company and Kawade Shobo before becoming freelance. After that, he began to point the lens at himself, his relatives, and his surroundings so that he could confirm the meaning of "I" and "take a picture". After that, his representative works "Yoko (wife, then)", "Sasuke (cat)", and "Crow" ( "Crow)" "Father's memory (father)" will be announced. After suffering a serious disability due to an accident in 1992, he has been suspended from his activities as a photographer, and although he has been active for more than 30 years, he continues to receive tremendous support worldwide. This is the 12th issue of the photobook series published by the collection brand "Hysteric Glamor", and is composed of street snaps published in the early 1980s under the title "Walking Eyes". This is a collection of works where you can enjoy Fukase's outstanding sensibility and aesthetics, which are different from works such as "cat" and "crow". 2004 Hysteric 15 Destroy All Monsters (Sue Rynski)This photobook showcases sue rynski's unique photographic vision, a monograph of her work published as part of the hysteric series, specifically "hysteric 15." known for her dynamic and raw portrayal of the punk and underground scenes, rynski's collection features a series of gritty, high-energy images that capture the spirit of rebellion and the essence of subcultural life. her work often highlights the intensity and spontaneity of her subjects, presenting a vivid, unfiltered look at moments of passion and defiance. comprising a carefully curated selection of photos, each piece reflects rynski's distinctive style and her ability to convey powerful emotions through her lens. It also includes a vinyl for Destroy All Monsters in the last page. 2006 Hysteric 16 Ueda ShojiThis beautiful monograph presents the work of the legendary Japanese photographer, Shoji Ueda (1913-2000). Wonderfully printed, these subtle portraits, delicate landscapes and gentle street scenes are part of the first photographs by Shoji Ueda unseen before. They are magically reproduced in this volume from Hysteric Glamour publications. 2006
