Description: From the estate and personal collection of Kitsy & Pete (Roberts) Kuykendall. Peter Van Kuykendall also known as Pete Roberts, was an American bluegrass musician, songwriter, discographer and a magazine and music publisher. He and his wife Katherine (Kitsy) were the founders of Bluegrass Unlimited magazine. Pete is also an inductee of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame. I have MANY pieces of music history belonging to them that I acquired including a large selection of signed memorabilia from famous country and bluegrass icons.I personally removed this antique 19.5" banjo from the wall in their basement which was country and bluegrass shrine LOADED signed items and awards that they received over the years of being in the music industry. Pete owned and could have afforded any make or model of banjo he wanted but for some reason, this old child size banjo was at the center of his entire collection which has me speculating that this may have been HIS CHILDHOOD BANJO that he may have learned how to play on. Otherwise, why would it be in such a prolific and valuable collection.Unlike most of the other items in the collection, it is not signed but this also would lend it belonging to his personally, therefore asking the question, why would he sign his on item. Just my thoughts... I will include a COA from myself, stating where it came from, etc.
