Description: This porcelain teacup dates back to Victorian-era England. Manufactured by Victoria Porcelain Ware (Fenton), Ltd., the cup's exterior features an exotic tree with with languid green leaves and flower blossoms in two shades of pink, against a bone background. There is also a gold-tone geometric pattern around the interior rim of the cup. The "Indian Tree" pattern was introduced in 1802 in the Staffordshire District of England, and it soon became a popular china pattern across England, and later the United States as well. However, most major manufacturers discontinued it during the mid-1900s, making any piece produced in the 1800s, in good to excellent condition today, a rare find. This cup is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches. The bottom is marked with a gold lion atop a rectangle that says "Victoria Porcelain Ware (Fenton), Ltd." Underneath the rectangle is the word "England", under which is written "Indian Tree." Dimensions: 2 1/4" high x 2 5/8" diameter
