Up for sale is an Indian War Era US Army Gaston Pattern Leather Holster for the Colt SAA Revolver. This is an original Leather Holster. The leather is soft and supple. There are surface cracks along the body of the holster. The The main seam of the holster shows some separation and has evidence of vintage re-stitching, see photo. Some cracking and crazing to the leather belt loop. The end plug is still present. The belt loop has had a reinforcing rivet added as some point in time. The holster has an internal cloth lining. See photo of the interior of the holster. No martial markings or dates. The Gaston Pattern Holsters are VERY RARE. I don't believe this was an Arsenal manufactured holster, but it commercial counter part. This pattern holster dated back to the late 1880's to early 1890's period.
