Please enlarge and check each photo carefully.The 2nd Bersaglieri Regiment "Governolo", was a unit of the Royal Italian Army and later of the Italian Army stationed as its last headquarters in Legnano.The regiment, formed on December 31,1861, took part in the Italian colonial wars in Eritrea in 1895 and in the Libyan campaign of 1911. The II Cyclist Battalion left Rome on May 30,1915 to take part in WWI, in 1935 in the Ethiopian Campaign and in 1939 it was used for the occupation of Albania. In WWII, on June 8, 1940, the regiment left for the eastern frontier.In 2002 the 2nd Bersaglieri Regiment disbanded.
