Description: J & E Stevens original cast iron mechanical bank. This is a wonderful example of a famous cast iron bank circa 1888. This bank is very rare and is amazing as it features 3 figures which move when the bank mechanism is engaged. The pitcher fires the ball to the batter and catcher, the batter moves his bat to hit the ball and the catcher’s head and glove move while the coin flies through the catcher to the bank. I am having trouble with the movement of the pitcher’s arm, but batter and catcher move with ease. Not a reproduction - the real thing. Very rare bank. Coin stopper on bottom stamped 1875- patent for stopper.
