Description: Offered here is an original 19th century painting done in the manner of John George Brown. Painting is oil on canvas, laid down on masonite and measures 14 x 10 1/2 inches and overall framed size is ~22 1/2 x 19 inches. Painting is indistinctly signed "J. G. Br . . . " Signature seems consistent with age of painting and does not fluoresce under black light. Brown rarely used this cursive style signature, but a similar signature is included in his signature examples.
