Description: This is a custom 12" figure commemorating one of the best known people in American history,John Griffith "Jack" London (January 1st, 1876 - November 22nd, 1916). Jack London was born John Griffith Chaney at birth. Eight months later Jack's mother married John London who adopted Jack as his own. Jack's name was changed shortly thereafter. Jack London was an American novelist, journalist, writer of short stories, author, and activist. London was a pioneer in commercial fiction and American magazines. London is most famous for his novels The Call of the Wild and White Fang. These books as well as some of his short stories are based on his experiences in the Klondike Gold Rush in Alaska. London went with his brother-in-law on July 12th, 1897 to the Klondike. Like many great and historical figures throughout history, Jack London suffered demons in his life including alcoholism as well as health problems from his many travels. Jack London was a very interesting figure in American history and one of the greatest authors of all time. Please note: although this figure does not look exactly like Jack London there is a bit of a resemblance. The figure displays well. sold as is. stand included.
