Provenance: This beautiful pastoral “Disneyesque” figurine was purchased in a Japanese auction from a well regarded dealer in early 2022, and shipped from Japan to me in Atlanta. Okimono (置物) is a Japanese term meaning "ornament for display; objet d'art; decorative object", typically displayed in a tokonoma alcove or butsudan altar.
