Description: Japanese Ukiyoe print by Toyohara Kunichika ( 1835-1900 ) < PP73 > Yakusha-e( Kabuki actors and scenes ) of Akechimitsuhide Kunichika studied with Ukiyoe artist Chikanobu from whom he received his artist name . Then under Kunisada and began to produce actor prints in Utagawa Style . Kunichika was known for his Okubi-e ( big -head portraits ) ,also his deep appreciation and knowledge of Kabuki drama led to his production of Yakusha-e . Kunichika was chosen by Japanese goverment to present his work at the 1867 World Exhibition in Paris.
