This print, "Asagao" is from his series depicting scenes from "Tale of the Genji," an 11th century novel by Murasaki Shikibu. This scene depicts Prince Genji's attempt to woo Asagao. It is the 20th scene in the series. It is accompanied by a tissue overlay explaining the scene in Japanese and English. Print dates to the 1950s.Condition: Print is in fair to good condition. Moderate foxing throughout. Backing has some upturned corners. Tissue overlay has some minor edge/corner wear.Measurements: Print measures approximately 13 inches wide by 9.5 inches high.
