Description: JF Wileman Seasons Staffordshire Slop Pot Brown Aesthetic Transferware c. 1866 A very nice antique brown transferware slop pot from the Aesthetic period. The piece was made by JF Wileman Foley Potteries, Staffordshire from the time period of 1866- 1892. The pattern is " Seasons" . One side features a cartouche with a man with a scythe harvesting grain, a grouse, rabbits, and florals. The other side features a snowy winter scent with man and dog venturing out through snow, moon above and homestead in the background. Holly and berries, elk, quail surround the scene. On each side on the knob style handles there are florals and ferns. Height is 10.5 inches. Rim to rim of jar/pot is 11 inch, handle to handle is 13 inch length. Has one chip on outer rim and one on inner rim. A tight hairline. Fine crazing. Displays well! Marked on the base. See photos. A unique and scarce British transferware item!
