Joe Bachelor is a California-based artist best known for his murals, commissioned paintings, decorative art for fine residences and resorts, and restoration of artwork in historic buildings. He is accomplished artist, specializing in murals, restoration, decorative art and fine art painting. Bachelor worked for a sign shop during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and supplemented his income doing illustration and graphic design for trade shows, presentations and in-house instructional videos. He has created murals and scenic paintings for music videos, television and feature films, and has also done work for Evergreene Architectural Arts, traveling and working on the restoration of artwork in historic buildings. Besides commissioned work, Bachelor creates and exhibits his own personal art. His artwork includes classical representational subjects, and works inspired by the cultural diversity of the Los Angeles area. Later works include gestural pen and pencil drawings in graphite and charcoal, watercolor studies and renderings, and abstract, figurative and landscape paintings. His work is influenced by his travels and an interest in global sub-culture. He believes that every subculture, Punk, Deadhead, Club, Rasta, Academic or Street Art is reflected globally through extended families that share a common language. Bachelor’s long term goal is to create a mature body of work in his own unique expressionistic style, where the representational subject and abstract composition are equal in beauty. His clients include the Bellagio, Alladin, Luxor, MGM Grand, Treasure Island and other hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada, Caesar's Palace and Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the Imperial Hotel in Osaka Japan, Sheraton Grand Hotel in Maui, Hawaii, and other hotels worldwide.
