Depending upon which view you choose, the first scan will show horizontal lines and/or cross hatching marks. Rest assured, these are not on the card itself. Usually scanning problems are confined to color pictures but today it's "advanced" to black and white! (You will note that the second scan (reverse side of the card) exhibits none of these problems.) For the Baseball Hobbyist. . . 1886-1890 Old Judge REPRINT baseball card JOSEPH "REDDY" MACK ~ 1885-1888 Louisville Colonels (today's Pittsburgh Pirates) 1-3/8" by 2-1/2" Quality REPRINT of N172 card Goodwin & Company produced the largest baseball card set of the 19th century which featured more than 500 different subjects among 3,000+ cards with some men featured on a dozen or more variations. Those three thousand PLUS cards have been cataloged by collectors by the American Card Catalog number 172 or N172. This set is chronicled well in the 457 page hardback book, GOODWIN & COMPANY OLD JUDGE 1886-1890 Baseball Cards which we recommend and sell. The card offered here is a modern REPRINT in approximately the same size as the original. (Originals are 1-7/16" by 2-1/2" while this REPRINT is 1/16" narrower at 1-3/8".) It will fit in collector pages designed for T205, T206 and other early candy and tobacco cards. Condition: Hand cut, Excellent/Near-Mint or better - this is the actual card the buyer will receive since we have just one card to sell.
