Description: Listing this afternoon an original authentic John Rogers Group entitled "Wounded to the Rear" One More Shot signed John Rogers New York Patented Jan.17,1865. General Custer had a similar group on his desk while on duty on the plains. Desciption and condition as follows: this Group is a period piece as you can clearly see the soldiers facial features are chiseled not pancaked as all forgeries look like; ;when buying a Shot please be aware of this as more and more forgeries are being listed on EBay as originals despite collectors like my self emailing these dealers bringing to their attention of their forgery;Unfortunately most of these dealers are ignorant not knowledgeable or worst disingenuous trying to pull a fast won over the unexpecting novice collector for fast money as in most cases they never respond back. I have 3 other "Last Shots" listed on EBay currently to compare and see which one is preferred. This Group stands 23 1/2 inches tall and the base is 10 inches wide and 10'inches deep; the finish is original paint; structural damage back of soldiers head, seated soldiers neck region which took a hit , standing soldiers sleeve cuff; there is green felt protection underneath the statues base; Please let the downloaded photos be your best desciption if this Group would be right for you......
