Description: This is the June 1918 issue of Club News of the Keystone Automobile Club in Philadelphia. Founded in 1906, the club, according to the sheet with the magazine to present to perspective members, offered members discounts on auto parts and repairs, a copy of the regional Blue Book with maps and descriptions of roads in the area, maps and travel advice, policing the roads, aiding in road repairs and putting up warning signs, defending members unjustly prosecuted. The 7 by 10 inch, 27 page magazine offers a variety of ads for car products and services tips on things like protecting varnish and extinguishing carburetor flames and suggestions on which roads to use in the area. Longer articles include the dangers of railroad crossings and following other drivers too closely. The editor defends women drivers against the statement in the previous month's issue which stated that they "take big chances without realizing the risks". The pages are toned, and the cover and first 4 pages have dark red stains. Interesting look at the early days of the auto!
