Description: This DL-sized greeting card features five highly detailed colour illustrations of Keith Richards' famous guitars, from George Morgan on the front and on the rear a brief history of each guitar.The card is produced on 350 gsm card and supplied with a quality white envelope.Keith Richards’ GuitarsAcquired in 1966 this is Keith’s late 1950’s Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. Keith decorated it with this psychedelic moon in 1968, around the same time that he used the guitar on the Beggar’s Banquet sessions.Named Micawber after a Charles Dickens character, this 1954 butterscotch blonde Fender Telecaster with maple neck was presented to Keith at his 27th birthday party by Eric Clapton. Keith had a number of modifications carried out, including changing the original bridge for a six-saddle solid brass version. He also had the low E string removed so that he could have the guitar set up as a five-string in open G tuning. Keith used this 1964 Gibson SG Custom during the Rolling Stones’ 1972 North American tour, the 1973 LA Forum benefit concert in aid of the victims of the Nicaraguan earthquake and the subsequent tour of the Pacific.Purchased in 1964, Keith’s first Gibson Les Paul Standard was a ’59 model that had already been retro-fitted with an aftermarket Bigsby B-7 Vibrato Tailpiece. This guitar was famously used on the Rolling Stones’ second U.S. tour in 1964, during their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show and featured on many hits including Time is on My Side, Little Red Rooster, The Last Time, (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Get Off My Cloud and Let’s Spend the Night Together.Purchased in Texas in June ‘75 and used both in the studio and on live performances, Keith had a number of modifications carried out to this Fender Telecaster Custom including changing the bridge for a chrome six-saddle version, removing the sixth string, allowing a five string open tuning set up and relocating the pickup selector switch to a more convenient location because of the angle at which he strums the guitar.
