Description: Description This gorgeous necklace is by Kenneth Jay Lane. It is both rare and wonderful. The oversized round pendant is identically carved on both sides with the Lotus flower motif and measures 1-3/4" in diameter. The shade of red is trending toward an orange shade in my photos, but in reality it is a stunning neutral blue/red. The smooth, polished beads are done in several translucent shades with subtle marbling effect, ranging from amber to brick red. These beads were sourced from the Czech Republic by Kenneth Jay Lane, a country which is known for their expert artisan beadmaking skills. There are also two carved cinnabar beads which match the pendant, and all the beads are separated by a set of two, small bronzy-toned seed beads with an ever so slight radiance. It is finished at both ends by a series of matching seed beads. The necklace measures 16", not including the built-in 2-3/4" extender, which gives a wearable length up to 18-3/4". The clasp is a shepherd's hook style. This exquisite necklace is a coveted "book piece", and can be seen in the collector's guide "Fabulous" by Nancy Schiffer on page 163.
