Korg 05R/W (Refurbished: New Caps/Battery/Tested)

Description: While this unit is used (which leads to some cosmetic issues, see photos for details), it has been repaired and refurbished to fully working order. The refurbish included: New electrolytic capacitors: These use mostly surface mount caps, which during the time of manufacture were fairly prone to failing. I hear these units in particular have a tendency to fail due to leaking capacitors. All electrolytics (both surface mount and radial lead) have been replaced with new high quality caps (I only use Panasonic, Nichicon, Rubycon, NCC, or Elna caps when doing a recap). See photos for the after-recap view.Replaced the CR2032 backup battery with a fresh one Replaced DC input filter (previous owner attempted repair without success).Cleaned input/output jacksCasing had several missing screws. I was able to find suitable replacements for most, except the one above the "TO HOST" serial port, which is mean to secure that port to the casing. I imagine most folks these days will not be using that port, and instead stick to the MIDI jacks (that said if you DO use the serial port, please contact me in advance I and I can try again to source a correct screw). This will include a power supply. Note it is not an original Korg PSU, but a compatible one that has been converted to the correct polarity (this unit takes center-negative plugs). It just confirms a few technical points: All buttons work, test mode completes without errors, sound output works correctly and responds appropriately to MIDI.
