Description: Kutani brand from Japan, Egg Shell Porcelain 4.5" Saucer for matching Demitasse Tea Cup Very unique and from what I can find, very rare design. Hand painted, the Demitasse size egg shell porcelain saucer has silver gilt along the lip. All white, it has an outdoor scene in black and grey of a 3 story pagoda nestled in a mountain with clouds, a bird flying and a rise with a forest of trees. Egg shell porcelain means the saucer is very fragile. It has made it through its 60+ years without a chip - amazing. Second to last pic shows how the light goes through the thin porcelain. This saucer is designed for the equally rare Demitasse Lithophane Cup. Last picture shows the combo (I have 2 cup/saucer combo's listed). Saucer: 4.5 inches diameter.
