Description: If you are looking at this Karl Priebe painting you likely know the artist who was featured in the 1940's in Life Magazine, and who was part of the group and movement of artists often called the Magic Realists. Priebe was from Wisconsin and lived in Milwaukee, and often painted African American subjects in this same joyful style. You see here the classic Priebe shorebird, in this case the colorful bird itself measuring approx 13" tall, and surrounded by the smoothly done surface. This large painting is in excellent condition, no fading, no stains, no damage, and professionally replaced in the frame in which it was found. It is signed in the lower facing right, Priebe 59. The size of the painting is approx 33 1/2" L X 21" x 2", PLUS the frame which is approx 41 1/2" x 28". With the glass and wood frame the hefty weight is approx 17 pounds.
