Description: This is a large siler left hand percussion lock assembled by Herman Stone out of Asheville NC and bears his company name LS stamped on the inside lock short for Locks & Stuff. On the outside of the lock is stamped E.L. Pringle WMSBURG OHIO. I don’t know who Mr Pringle was or if he or Mr Stone are still living but he obviously had his left hand rifle set up to where he could interchange with a flintlock and decided to keep it flintlock permanently. It is drilled and threaded for a lock bolt at the ear but not at the front. Whoever drilled and tapped that hole did it perfect center and threads still intact. I can’t remember if it’s an 8-32 or 10-32 hole but can double check if that’s important to you just I remember the bolt threaded perfectly and it’s in the perfect placement for your build and probably a better job than what a lot of semi custom builders could do today. It does have the fly. So I been saving the best part of this lock for last. The sear release is super smooth and light even without grease on it. Whoever tuned this lock did a hell of a job and to me that alone is worth the entire price of this lock because that kind of smoothness doesn’t even come with a $230 you’d buy today on a large siler. I’d love to keep for myself but I’m a right handed shooter and had an idea for this when I bought it but I need the money from this sale to buy parts for more urgent builds and thought I’d pass this great lock on to someone for $100 less than you can get one today.
