Three graduated envelopes are also displayed. Whilst the performer turns away, a participant freely selects an ESP card from among five different symbols, and the chosen symbol is reversed in the packet, which is then isolated in an opaque envelope. In true 'test conditions' style, this envelope is then examined by the participant, who confirms that it is completely opaque. The envelope is then inserted into a second envelope, then both these envelopes are isolated inside a third envelope, then placed inside a holder.
