This appears to be an unpublished manuscript on rhetoric, with many examples drawn from the ancients and its application to Christian theology. A previous bookseller erroneously identified this as the work of Crevier, and we have also been able to rule out René Bary, Le Gras and Du Roure as possible authors. There is a dedication to L'Abbé Paulus Peyre of Gourdon, very near Nice in southern France and, finding no evidence that this was ever published, we are making an assumption that this was used to teach rhetoric to novices in the church. We only have the second volume, unfortunately. Very good.
