Description: Leica Summitar 5cm (50mm) f/2 collapsible rangefinder screw mount M39x1 LTM standard lens. Serial #856460. Made in Germany. Circa 1951. Perfect fit for Leica III, IIIA, IIC, IIIF, IIIC, IIF, IIIF ST or Leica IIIG cameras. Can also be used on most mirrorless digital cameras with the proper adapter. 7 lens elements in 4 groups. Use Leica L tapered filters. Close focusing from 3.5 feet or 1 meter. Distance scale is in meters only. Aperture range from f/2 - f/16. Lens aperture is the later version 6 aperture blade design with the hexagon opening. Single lens coating. Lens is in Ex or 8 of 10 cosmetic condition. No DENTS or DINGS. Overall good condition lens barrel with a few small marks around. Good glass. Some small haze inside that can be seen with a flashlight only. This probably will not affect your photos. Front lens coating with a some fine coating marks. These will have no affect on your photos. Smooth focusing. Smooth working and clean aperture blades. This lens was CLA'D best as possible for a vintage lens. Vintage light weight "classic" Leica Screw Mount standard lens in good shooter condition with lens caps, and a vintage Leitz yellow filter.
