Description: For your consideration is a wonderful piece of early Methodist literature: Volume 1 of Rev. Henry Moore's "The Life of John Wesley". Includes additional info on his family, specifically his brother Charles. Genuine, original, and fully-bound in leather. 5.25 X 8.75", 467 pages. Solid condition with a strong, intact binding with no repairs. This is a real 1824 printing! Inscribed very lightly in pencil in what appears to be 1838. Pages have age-related browning/tanning/foxing as shown but overall acceptable considering it's ~200 years old. No torn or missing pages we could find, no bookworm holes, etc. A very respectable condition, and rare in any condition. Printed by J&J Harper, which would later become the Harper publishers we all know. Just a fun detail in this book, being printed pre-1830's it exhibits the "J&J" marking.
